The orange Parentesi luminaire is a special edition launched in celebration of the design’s 50th anniversary. The colourway pays homage to one of the two designers, Pio Manzù: the RAL shade Signal Orange was one of the colours he used for his prototypes. The 50th anniversary edition Parentesi is delivered in a special package, made of recycled plastic, that is inspired by the original 1970s packaging.

Parentesi, designed by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù in 1971 for the Italian brand Flos, is an exceptional piece of lighting design – it is both a floor lamp and a ceiling lamp at the same time. Parentesi is attached between the ceiling and the floor with a steel cable, and it plugs into mains like a normal floor lamp. The height and direction of the lamp head can be adjusted to easily complement any space, domestic or public. With its industrial, functional construction, Parentesi is a classic of Italian design, and it has received the prestigious Compasso d’Oro design award.
