Ikebana Vase Long

770

The Ikebana Vase Long has been created by Jaime Hayón for the label Fritz Hansen. This vase is a departure from the norm with its long rather than typical tall shape and the added detail of a metallic insert. The design gives a nod to a Japanese flower arrangement method that goes back centuries. This method was used to ensure every part of a flower was effectively displayed. The rectangle-shaped vase with raised sides and a curved base is made of mouth-blown glass.

Description

The Ikebana Vase Long comes with a metallic insert that goes into the glass. The insert is made up of an upper and lower surface that are joined by cylinder-shaped bars on either side. Both surfaces have corresponding openings so that a stem goes through the upper one and down into the lower one to stand upright.

The Ikebana Vase Long has a width of 33.5cm, a height of 10cm and a depth of 9.5cm. It comes with a brass or stainless steel insert. This novel long vase can hold its own as a decorative item but with a bouquet of flowers, it is a thing of beauty.
