Made from bamboo covered in glossy lacquer, the chair has a saddle-shaped seat and an oversized backrest which is supported by two long back legs. This gives it a cosily curvy, stocky appearance, and in fact it is nearly as wide as it is tall, with a breadth of 100cm and a height of 110cm. There’s a lightness and airiness, courtesy of the rattan upholstery, to the seat and back. The neck pillow and seat cushion are made of supple leather for an additional touch of opulence. Graceful and inviting, informal yet stylish, the Nomad Chair already features in the foyers of several premium hotels, and it’s easy to picture it in plenty of other locations, too.
